Overnight Camp 2 - Thursday

August 15

Today was our last full day at Camp Amicus! Despite this, it was the busiest day of our week!

Our day began with breakfast, followed by our camp-wide game, Dress the Beast. It is a capture the flag style game that has two counsellors dressed head to toe in props from our prop bins on either side of the field. If a camper makes it to the counsellor without being tagged, they can take one prop for their own 'beast,' and the winning team is the one with the most props on.

Our social skill today was digital communication. In our increasingly digital world, knowing what to post online and what not to post is very important. Campers brainstormed topics that would be both appropriate and inappropriate for posting online, played telephone, and discussed the difference between face-to-face conversation and conversation over the internet.

We then had some free time before lunch, and skill block afterwards. With today being our last day, every camper has now had the opportunity to partake in each skill.

Instead of having a rest hour today, we had a second choice block! Rest hour was offered as a choice. We then had Kangaroo Court, a camp favourite activity in which two counsellors got soaked in glittery green slime. Then it was time for dinner!

Our last activity for the day was our final campfire, in which we had 10 performances, and each of our campers received an award, made s'mores, and hugged it out. It was a suitable ending to a wonderful week. It has been a pleasure!
