Hello Families and
Friends of Camp Amicus,
Well as you all heard
we made it to Goldeye safe and sound. Lunch was delicious and enjoyed by all.
After lunch we went on a camp tour and got to know one another a little bit
better. Campers then got their luggage and settled into their cabins. We got
lucky and the sun came out for us this afternoon so we decided it would be a
good idea to hit the lake since it had warmed up. After our quick swim we
started our first rotation of activities, half our group did the first social
skills lesson about communication, while the other half made some very
creative name tags and played name games!
We certainly worked up
an appetite so we took a break to enjoy a very yummy BBQ dinner with hotdogs
and hamburgers. After dinner we went for a great nature walk around the Goldeye
Lake that we all really liked. Next we played our first camp wide game of
Manhunt, a very fun and fast paced game that everyone really got into! To wind
up our night we headed to the campfire, where we had a visit from Max of Where
the Wild Things Are to introduce our theme this week. It has been so great to
watch campers already starting to bond with each other and feel comfortable at camp,
we are all really looking forward to an amazing week together! Tomorrow brings
many more games, exciting activities and tie-dye!
Photos to come later
tonight or first thing in the morning!
