Overnight Camp 1 - What a Great Start!

What a wonderful start to camp here up in Nordegg!

On our safe and happy ride to camp, by their arrival, our campers were full of songs and a healthy lunch of sandwiches, granola bars, fruit and juice. They spent their time on the bus happily playing cards, 20 questions, colouring and getting to know some new friends.
Once we were at camp, it was full steam ahead. We started with a picture scavenger hunt to find all of their new surroundings and a snack of cheese, crackers and watermelon.
Then campers moved into their bunks and got settled with some new friends. Some of our campers are already getting along so well that you may be able to spot a bit of a head massage in their cabin picture!
We are moving right into our first social skills lessons and teaching about the Zones of Regulation (http://www.zonesofregulation.com/index.html), making some camp braids (similar to sashes for scouts or guides, to help track their accomplishments), and dinner.
This evening we will have a camp wide game of predator and prey, and our opening camp fire. Then head to our cabins, for a restful night of sleep.
We can't wait for tomorrow's adventures!
