As you can imagine, the last full day of camp was very busy so my apologizes for the delay in a blog entry.
Yesterday after breakfast we had a lesson about bullying and self-esteem. The campers also played a variety of parachute games. Lunch arrived and campers were very happy because they got to build their own tacos.
After lunch, we had some time for campers to prep for the talent show that we had later in the evening. After a bit of time to get ready for their performances, we joined the Goldeye staff on the team ropes and low ropes. Campers had lots of fun during these activities and the Goldeye staff was wonderful at engaging and encouraging everyone.
The sun was shining today which made it a perfect day to go swimming again. Lots of fun was had at the lake splashing around. We came up from the lake and got ready for supper. For supper, we got to eat outside and we had a delicious roast beef dinner. After dinner, we played an intense game of Fools Gold.
Finally the moment many campers had been waiting for arrived - Talent Show time! We had many campers share a variety of talents. We had campers singing, dancing, directing a fashion show where counsellors were the models, comedy acts and more. It was a night filled with spectacular performances.
Previously this week, six campers won the treasure hunt and their prize was to pick a counsellor to pie in the face. So, throughout the talent show, counsellors were surprised with a pie to the face, myself included! There were many laughs shared throughout the evening. It was a great way to end our time here at Goldeye.
Friday we will be leaving Goldeye around noon and heading home.
See you soon,
Dori
