We had a busy day! Much of our day today was spent at Calaway Park, giving us just enough time in the morning for a Zones of Regulation check-in. We filled our water bottles, made sure we were all wearing sunscreen, and were picked up around 9:45.
We established a meeting place/hang out spot by the Celebration Stage, in the middle of the park. From there, we split into smaller groups based on ride preference. Though we travelled together, and a majority of us ate lunch together, no two groups had the same Calaway experience!
Though it was cloudy when our day began, soon after we arrived, the clouds parted and gave us nearly a full day of sunshine! There is, however, not a whole lot of shade at Calaway, so making sure everyone drank water and took breaks when they needed them was a must. The heat also meant that the Bumper Boats, as well as Timber Falls, were popular destinations for many of our groups today.
After nearly 4 hours of Calaway Park action, we met back at the central meeting spot to prepare to head back to the Foothills Academy. At the end of the day, we had time for our end of day Zones of Regulation check-in, but not only that, we had one more birthday today, which meant one more pie to the face!
