Day Camp 3 - Wednesday

July 31

It's the middle of our session here at Camp Amicus, and we had a truly packed day! Today was the only day we had clubs, social skill and choice in the same day, therefore we all stayed very busy!

Today began as usual, with our Zones of Regulation check-in, followed by camp wide game. Our game was Temple of Doom, a certified camp classic that sees four teams taking turns trying to gather the most loot from one side of the field, while the other three teams stop them with dodgeballs. It is, in my opinion, the most photogenic camp-wide game.

Our social skill came next, which today was humour. We took a look at appropriate uses of humour (when to make jokes and when to hold back,) the different kinds of humour and which are and are not camp appropriate, and some campers got to create their own short skits! Safe to say, we all had fun with the two boxes of costumes.

Following social skill, we had our first session of clubs! Cooking club made chocolate cookies, and Art club got a start on papier-mâché cacti. Music club has gotten a start on their performance at Friday's award ceremony!

We had a half hour of free time after clubs, then lunch. Afterwards, it was time for choice! While I usually facilitate the portrait photography choice, I took a step back to capture our Choice programs from today.

After choice, we had time for Steps in the Right Direction, but not only that, it was two campers' birthdays today, which means two counsellors got pie to the face. I, indeed, was one of them, and I took my pie-ing with grace.

We finished our day with a Zones of Regulation check-in.
