Day Camp 2 - First week in review

Hello Friends and Family!

Day Camp 2 started last week and has been going so well! In their first week at Camp Amicus Campers had many opportunities to practice their social skills while having loads of fun! Last week our three main social skills were: Communication, Having a conversation and Making friends. Campers learnt about these skills as well as strategies to develop good social skills and they had the opportunity to practice what they learnt at camp! Their first day was spent playing lots of games and getting to know each other. Our first outing was to mini golf where despite the threat of a thunder storm, campers had a blast and there were even a few hole-in-one's! Due to the rain we mixed up our schedule a bit and had to have a rainy day, staying  dry inside we played loads of games including a popular game called Manhunt and put on a Camp Amicus talent show complete with popcorn! It has been so great to watch campers get more comfortable and come out of their shells, we love watching their confidence and self-esteem grow. Thankfully the weather cleared up and we were able to enjoy a sunny day at Calaway park to cap off our first week. Campers showed tremendous team spirit and encouraged their friends to try new rides even if they were a little nervous at first. We are looking forward to an other great week, starting today with water games!

Thanks for checking in!
