Day Camp 1 - Choices for all!

If you have been following the blog, by now you know that I LOVE camp! Today has been no exception! We started our morning with a large camp game, learning about communication and fundamental movement - our campers were laughing and running the whole time, and while we see them learning and mastering skills, they tend to just think of it as normal camp fun.

We spent time learning about how to de-escalate conflict, a skill that everyone can use, and work on. It was amazing to see how quickly they pick up the skills, and how engaged they are in the activities around them.

Our afternoon was a "Choice" afternoon, which means that there are 3 different options of activities, each one runs for one hour, and then the same three are repeated for the second hour. However, our campers get to choose where they want to spend their time. Some of our campers opted for a some water play - which was great with how warm it was. Other campers opted for some dodgeball action in the gym - check our our little spider man! He looks like he dodged pretty well. And finally some of our campers opted for a more low energy program - crafts, to recharge a bit during the day.

Well tomorrow we head on an all day field trip! Don't forget, please don't send any money, just send snacks, water and a packed lunch.

All the best,

Kathleen "Quack Quack" Gurski
