Today was an other action packed day here at Camp Amicus. We began our day outside, before the weather had a chance to turn on us. We started with an exciting camp version of Pokemon Go! This game included various "Pokestops" that had campers doing lots of activities like jumping jacks and crunches to earn Poke Balls. Campers were rewarded with different Pokemon after completing all the stops, and boy did they do a great job supporting each other and cheering on their fellow Pokemon hunters!
Our social skills focus was on friendship and ways to de-escalate conflict. We spent the afternoon doing choice activities where campers were able to choose which activities they wanted to participate in. The options were; soccer, ping-pong, making sensory sticks, arts & crafts and playing man hunt all around the school.
We have been so impressed with our campers so far this week, they have done a great job getting to know each other and settling into the Camp Amicus routine. Tomorrow we are hoping for sunny skies for what will undoubtedly be an other great day for camp!
