Good morning from Camp!
Sorry about another late blog post! Our internet seems to get very weird at night, making it hard to post. Our apologies.
Yesterday was an amazing day at camp! We had a full day of horseback riding, making slime for Kangaroo Court (more about that tomorrow), going to the waterfront and hiking.
One of our favorite times at camp is when Chungo Creek comes to visit camp. It is amazing to see our campers work with the horses, and experience our amazing wilderness from a unique perspective. Even some of our more hesitant and shy campers can come right out of their shell with the horses.
We also spent time working on the skill of entering and exiting a group, which can be a difficult skill to master. We practiced reading a group, and deciding which group you would want to join and which you would not. We also practiced how to read a group to figure out the rules that may exist in the group. Finally, we practiced how to leave a group in a natural way.
To say the least, our camps did AWESOME! They are really working on their skills at camp.
During our Choice Activities today, campers could choose from Beach Volleyball, Paint Tag or Ukulele. It was awesome to see campers trying all of our activities with their new friends.
Our evening was an amazing dance, hosted by our amazing camp coordinator Tigger. I only got to see the end of the dance, which involved seeing very tired and ready for bed campers walking back to the cabin. I have already heard some stories about some pretty fantastic dance moves!
Well, I have heard the call for breakfast! It is time to start another amazing day at camp!
All the best from camp,
Kathleen Gurski/Quack Quack
