Day Camp 2 - Tuesday

Greetings from Foothills,

This morning we started our day with a Zones check in before playing a camp-wide game of Humantracker. This game involved teams of campers, with one team being the trackers, traveling around camp with their counsellors and tagging everyone who wasn’t a tracker. Whoever hadn’t been tagged when time ran out was the winner. After that we had a snack and made our daily goals, then went into our Social Skill.

Today’s Social Skill was Blowing Off Steam. Campers split into the two head counsellor groups and did a few activities, such as exercise or meditation, to help them when they’re stressed. The also made homemade stress balls, which are a great fidget tool. Afterward, we went into clubs, in which campers can be part of sports club, music club, or art club. Once we were done we had some free time before having lunch.

We went to Flying Squirrel today! Campers got to spend the afternoon bouncing, climbing, and playing trampoline dodgeball. We loaded up the bus after plenty of fun, headed back to Foothills, and did our Steps in the Right Direction. After our afternoon Zones check-in, campers headed home.

There’s plenty to be excited about tomorrow. Our Social Skill is teamwork, we have clubs, and we have Choice programming. Campers have been advised to bring a spare pair of clothes because we’ll be doing some water activities to keep cool. It’s supposed to be a hot one!
See you then,

Pippin
