Hi there,
It’s a smoky day today so we spent the day indoors, but that didn’t affect the amount of fun we had! After our morning Zones check-in, we did a camp-wide game. Much to the surprise of the campers, it was a big surprise birthday party for everyone at camp complete with musical chairs, piƱatas, and pin the nose on the clown. We had a quick snack and made our goals and then split into our two head counsellor groups for Social Skills.
Today we did teamwork. One group used the challenge course that was set up in the camp room and had to figure out how to work as a group to get from one side to the other. The second group worked in small teams in the gym for a while before coming together to spell out “CAMP AMICUS” with their bodies in the gym.
We continued with clubs after that. Campers split into sports club, music club, and art club. Afterwards, we had some free time before having lunch. The afternoon included another round of Choice programming, with today’s Choices being bath bombs and lava lamps, stained glass art, and tag games. The bath bombs had little surprises inside (dinosaurs!), the stained glass art was beautiful, and the tag games involved a game of Humantracker with the whole school as the playing field.
As the day came to a close, we did Steps in the Right Direction and had our afternoon Zones check-in. Tomorrow, due to the smoke, we’ve postponed Cobbs and will be staying at the school. Instead, we’ll be following our Friday schedule. We have a camp-wide game, Social Skills, clubs, and Choice programs.
Until tomorrow,
Pippin
