Happy Wednesday!
Today began with our usual Zones of Regulation check-in.
From there, we transitioned to camp-wide game. Today, we played Human Tracker!
In this game, groups of counsellors and campers hid around the outside of Foothills
Academy while five campers tried to find them. Once found, campers had the
option to run, but once caught, they joined the team of human trackers. It was a great opportunity for team-building and cooperation first thing in the morning!
We moved to social skill afterwards. Today’s social skill
was problem solving! Our campers were faced with a number of problems that they
had to work together to solve. Our camp room was transformed into a small-scale
escape room! Knowing how to deal with one’s problems in a levelheaded way,
working towards a common goal with one’s friends, is an important social skill
that may be used every day.
Following this, we got into our clubs. Music club furthered
their ukulele knowledge, and art club painted rocks and sticks to make them camouflage with the ground! Cooking club finished their cakes, and made icing
to decorate. Though it got messy, some very beautiful cakes were made today! We
had some free time after this, and then it was time for lunch.
Today, I ran a photography choice, where everyone who
participated got time with a point and shoot camera, and later on they had a
scavenger hunt of portraits to achieve! Due to this, there are no photos from
choice programs today. My apologies!
We concluded our day with Steps in the Right Direction, and
afterwards a Zones of Regulation check-in before sign out.
