We are well underway at camp! The rain broke today for all of our choices activities, which allowed us to paddle, play and act the afternoon away outside.
I had a great time taking out some kayaking, canoeing and stand up paddleboarding campers. The one picture I took today, has our two kayakers approaching one of the three resident loons on the lake (there are two adults, and one of this years births).
One thing we do to end our days at camp is we share our Rose, Thorn and Bud. The Rose is what we really enjoyed from the day. The Thorn is something we didn't like, or wish could have gone differently. Finally, The Bud is something that we are excited for tomorrow. Today while I was with the youngest boys cabin, I heard some amazing Rose's, Thorn's and Bud's. Here are my favourites:
Rose's:
"My rose is that I played tetherball today. Hitting that ball is so fun"
"My rose is that I made a friend today, you're the best tickle Ted" (cabin mate then bursts out laughing)
"My rose is getting to see pictures of my dog back home and sharing them with you guys"
Thorn's:
"I don't have a thorn, today was great"
"My thorn is that my eye was itchy for 5 minutes, it was weird"
Bud's"
"Archery, archery, archery! I can't wait to shoot stuff!"
"The whole day sounds amazing, so everything"
"Breakfast! I want pancaaaaaaaaaaakes"
By the time we got to my Rose - it was just that everyone was loving camp, and that I got to spend so much time with campers today. My Thorn was that my lips were chapped. My Bud is that tomorrow is full of so many great things at camp - especially our talent show!
That is it for me today, I am off to bed to rest up for another Polar Bear Dip tomorrow!
