Overnight Camp 2 - Off to a great start!

After a great bus ride of lunch, games, songs, activities and making new friends we have arrived at camp! The counsellors have already taken their campers on a photo scavenger hunt around the camp, and showed them where they will be eating, sleeping, playing, learning new skills and having fun!

As I walked around camp meeting this weeks new campers, I already saw some of our returning campers giving the new campers a warm welcome. Our returning campers do a fantastic job of sharing camp stories, showing new campers where things are, and of course, welcoming them in a way only a returning camper can. It makes me so happy to see friendships starting so quickly here at camp, and gets me even more excited for this week at camp!

There is a small piece of silence around the cabins, as the campers have finishing setting up their cabins, and bunks. We are already into our first social skills lesson about the Zones of Regulation (http://www.zonesofregulation.com/), and how to read our own, and other peoples emotions.

I am already looking forward to this evenings camp wide game - called 'Charlie's Candy'. Its a new camp game our counsellor Thumper is running, and I for one, am excited to learn all about it!

Tonight we have our opening campfire, which will be full of songs, stories and laughter.

I am so excited to share this week at camp with you all - so be prepared for some stories, pictures, laughter and learning.

I am going to go back and join our campers learning about the Zones of regulation, I can already tell you, I am in the Green Zone because I am pumped to be back at camp!

All the best from Camp
