Overnight Camp 2: Day 5

Sorry for our late blog post! Our last day of camp, and morning departure always make for a busy schedule.

Our last full day at camp was fantastic!

We started our day with our last polar bear dip. It was a challenging one for sure, as the morning was so cold, our campers definitely earned their polar bear dip award!

The majority of our day was spent rotating through horseback riding, making s'mores at our camp fire, going canoeing, and making slime for Kangaroo Court

If you haven't heard about Kangaroo Court, let me tell you. Each week, our campers have the opportunity to put their counsellors on trial for crimes against camp. These are always made up, silly and ridiculous things our counsellors have done. This week, our wonderful counsellor Belle was charged with so many crimes against camp - picking flowers, going rock climbing at midnight, ringing the camp bell. Once our counsellor is put on trial, witnesses will come up to be questioned.

Poor Belle was found guilty of her crimes against camp, and was punished by having slime dumped all over her.

In our social skills lesson, about how to blow off steam, our campers made sensory sticks, stress balls, and more! They have so many tools to help them keep calm in escalating situations.

After that, we had our choice programs, and campers got to choose between, dodgeball, pop up cards and waterfront time, soccer. To say the least, every camper finds something they like to do at choice.

We wrapped up our day with a closing campfire, and awards ceremony. It was a great end to the week at camp.

All the best from camp,

Kathleen Gurski/Quack Quack
