Overnight Camp 3: Day 4

What an amazing day we had at camp!

Our day started with what I am going to call the coldest Polar Bear Dip in Camp Amicus history! It didn't stop our campers from jumping in the lake, and having a great time.

Our morning was spent working on digital communication, and how to interpret text that may not have tone, or how to infer tone from previous text, and how emoji's can complicate the whole thing. these teens did an awesome job of learning and practicing these skills.

After lunch, we headed back to our amazing Goldeye programming, and campers switched it up. Those who went to archery and rock climbing on the first day, tried our high ropes static course. Those who tried the high ropes static course on the first day, tried out archery and rock climbing.

There were so many "Steps in the Right Direction" for campers helping each other, and being supportive on the static high ropes course, and the zip line.

Our campers showed great self advocacy skills in the last two days, as well as showing that they are capable of trying new things, and succeeding at them.

The choice programs were Blue Man Group - which involved our campers painting themselves blue, taking our percussive instruments and drumming on every surface they can find at camp. It was AMAZING! The other options were screen printing - where campers got to design and customize their shirts - so many of them chose to customize their Tie Dye shirts from Monday and the shirts look outstanding. The final option was Omnikin volleyball - which was hilarious and our campers spent A LOT of time laughing.

Our evening program was Hydro Pyro - which is sort of like capture the flag, but instead of a flag, each team makes a fire in a fire pit. Once a camper gets into the fire bit boundary (they are fairly large), the camper gets to dump a cup of water on the opposing fire, attempting to put out the other fire.

We had a great day at camp, and thanks for reading all about it!

All the best from camp,

Kathleen Gurski/Quack Quack
