Overnight Camp 1 - Tuesday

Hello from Goldeye!

It’s was another rainy day here but that didn't slow us down. Polar Bear Dip was cancelled this morning due to the chilly morning weather so campers slept in a bit before a big day of fun programming. After breakfast and a Zones check in, campers played a variety of Tag games for camp wide game and the set their daily goals with their counsellors. The Social Skill for today was Blowing Off Steam and campers participated in activities that can help them express their emotions in an effective and healthy manner and let go of frustrations. Several campers got to make homemade play-dough that acted as excellent stress balls and fidget toys.

Lunch was very good, as usual, and gave us the energy to be ready for a crazy afternoon. Campers rotated between horseback riding, science and slime, screen printing, and games in the field house. The hike and waterfront activities were postponed, to ensure our campers stayed warm, and engaged in camp

An excellent time was had by all, despite the weather, as campers created handfuls of slime, designed their own images to screen print onto t-shirts, played a variety of sports and games, and bonded with the wonderful horses.

After supper we had the first Amicus dance. Campers danced the evening away in the hall with glow sticks, balloons, and a limbo stick. It was the perfect end to the day and everyone was quite ready for a good night’s sleep. Tomorrow morning we’re continuing our Social Skills, participating in Goldeye programming at the various ropes courses, a new round of Choice programs, and the old favourite: Hydro Pyro.

Can’t wait!
