Overnight Camp 2 - Wednesday

Hello from beautiful Goldeye,

The weather today was absolutely spectacular and we took full advantage of it. After a Polar Bear Dip that was arguably a bit warmer than usual, we had a lovely breakfast before our morning routine of Zones check in and camp wide game. We played Guardians of the Galaxy this morning before making daily goals and enjoying a snack. Today for Social Skills we did De-escalating Conflict before a bit of free time.

After lunch today we had another session of Goldeye. The two groups alternated between a new element at Team Ropes and the Giant Swing. Both groups showed excellent teamwork and cheered each other on from the ground. The Choice programs this afternoon included free swim time, bottle rockets, and outdoor adventures, with free swim being especially popular due to the warm weather. Lots of campers jumped off the dock or paddled around with our big floaties and cooled off in the lake.

The best part about Wednesdays is the amazing barbeque and we were lucky enough today to enjoy our burgers outside today. Afterwards, we cleared the tables and chairs in the hall to make way for a dance floor. This week’s dance even had a photo booth where kids could try on costumes and wigs when they weren’t dancing the night away. After a final throwback Space Jam song, campers returned to their cabins for bedtime routines.

There’s plenty to be excited about tomorrow. For Social Skills we’ll be doing Entering and Exiting Groups, and throughout the afternoon campers will be cycling through horseback riding, science & slime, waterfront activities, and archery. It’s also the last day of Polar Bear Dip for this week and campers who participated every day will be receiving their award at the End of Camp Ceremony in the evening. Campers will also get their individual weekly awards.

    Signing off,
    Pippin
