It was a great day to be a camper at Camp Amicus. After the usual Zones check-in, we played a camp-wide game. Today, our lovely Belle put together a real-life game of Pokémon Go! Campers got to go around the gym capturing and evolving their Pokémon and doing tasks to earn Pokéballs. The best part was that campers got to keep the Pokémon they caught as bling for their braids. After that, we had a snack and made our goals before we moved into our Social Skill of Entering and Having a Conversation.
We had clubs today so campers split up into sports club, art club, and music club. After that, we had some free time before having lunch. For the afternoon we did our Choice programs, with tie-dye, baking, and gym games being available for campers to choose from. To finish off the day we did Steps in the Right Direction and an afternoon Zones check in before campers made their way home.
It’s another smoky one tomorrow so we’ve postponed our field trip to Cobbs for Wednesday of next week. Instead, tomorrow we’ll have a camp-wide game, clubs, Social Skills, and Choice programs.
